The function of the skeleton oil seal is generally to isolate the components that need lubrication in the transmission components from the output components to prevent lubricating oil from leaking. It is usually used on rotating shafts and is a rotating shaft lip seal. The skeleton is like the steel bars inside the concrete components, which strengthens and enables the oil seal to maintain its shape and tension. According to the skeleton type, it can be divided into internal skeleton oil seal, external skeleton oil seal and internal and external exposed skeleton oil seal.
Skeleton oil seals are widely used in aviation, automobiles, motorcycles, railways, vehicles, ships, home appliances, engineering machinery and other industries. Suitable for sealing of rotary motion and reciprocating motion. Installed on various heavy-duty engines, gearboxes, axles, ships, cylinders, etc. It mainly prevents the sealed medium (gas, liquid.) from penetrating and external foreign matter from entering the body.
Precautions:
The pressure range of ordinary oil seals is very limited, generally 0.03 MPa. This pressure is generally the pressure caused by the height difference of the lubricating oil itself. If you need to seal higher pressure, you need to use a high-pressure oil seal (generally can withstand a maximum pressure of 1 MPa) or other sealing forms.
