Rubber conveyor belt is the most common conveying medium in industrial conveying system. It is made of multiple layers of rubber and skeleton materials (such as canvas, wire rope, etc.) and is used to transport bulk or piece materials such as coal, ore, cement, grain, fertilizer, building materials, etc. It has the characteristics of high strength, wear resistance, heat resistance, corrosion resistance, good flexibility, etc.
Basic structure of rubber conveyor belt
Typical rubber conveyor belt consists of three parts:
Top & Bottom Rubber Cover)
Upper cover layer: bear material wear
Lower cover layer: contact with rollers, protect skeleton material
Material can choose wear-resistant, heat-resistant, oil-resistant, acid-resistant and alkali-resistant rubber
Skeleton layer (Carcass):
Provide strength and support, common materials include: EP canvas (polyester + nylon), NN canvas (nylon + nylon), wire rope (steel belt)
Rubber adhesive layer: connect cover rubber and skeleton layer to ensure firm structure and good peeling resistance
Suggestions for rubber conveyor belt selection
Clear the type of conveyed material (whether it is abrasive, corrosive, high temperature, etc.)
Determine the conveying environment (whether it needs fire protection, high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, etc.)
Determine parameters such as bandwidth, number of layers, length, speed, etc.
Prefer aging-resistant materials (extend service life and reduce maintenance costs)
Consider overall economic efficiency (cost-effectiveness and replacement frequency)
Rubber conveyor belts are an indispensable core component for industrial material transportation. With the diversification of working conditions, the requirements for its wear resistance, heat resistance, flame retardancy, oil resistance and other properties are getting higher and higher. Reasonable selection and standardized use will greatly improve production efficiency and reduce maintenance costs.
